Jim Middleton

Jim Middleton is a Redding native, having graduated from Shasta High School and Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ. He continued his education at California State University, Chico where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Physical Education.
In 1971, he started at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ as a Health/Physical Education instructor and says it was his dream job. Jim served his entire career at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ and was selected as Educator of the Year in 1996, as California Community College Women’s Cross-Country Coach of the Year in 1996 and inducted to the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Hall of Fame for coaching in 1970 and 2000!
In addition to Jim being a faculty member for 35 years, he served as an Executive Board Member of the Faculty Association for over 25 years and treasurer of the Faculty Association for four years. He represented Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ on the Shasta County Schools Local Coordinating Council, represented faculty on the Crisis Intervention Response Team, and coached the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Men’s and Women’s Tennis for 12 years and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track for 18 years.
After retiring in 2005, he has remained involved as a member of the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Foundation Board, Emeritus Group, and assists with athletic events, and volunteers in the community.
Jim’s life has centered around Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ and continues with serving as a member of a Board of Trustees.
