The purpose of this page is to provide current, general information about the Dual Enrollment and Articulation Annual Course Request Process. Our goal is to provide transparent procedures and accurate expectations for becoming a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Dual Enrollment Instructor. - Check to see if you qualify or if you’re considering getting a Master’s degree check the to determine what might qualify you to teach in the discipline you’re interested in!
- Email ecep@shastacollege.edu for the current course request forms. For common questions, please refer the .
- Return the Course Request, Application Materials, and Syllabus to the Dual Enrollment office at ecep@shastacollege.edu.
Once the high school instructor submits a new application with all required documents the ECEP office will route the application to the discipline dean for the review of minimum qualifications. If the high school instructor meets minimum qualifications two options are available.
- The dean will do a preliminary review of the Dual Enrollment application materials and if they believe the applicant meets minimum qualifications, they will forward to the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ faculty for review of submitted materials. The dean notifies the Dual Enrollment Office, and they invite the Dual Enrollment applicant to the orientation meeting and the Dual Enrollment applicant is now eligible to teach DE courses.
- Alternatively, if the SC faculty needs additional clarification, they may notify the dean and ECEP office that they will meet the applicant(s) at the high school worksite or other appropriate location to assure compliance with equipment requirements, and/or conduct a one-on-one meeting before determination of approval. Should the SC faculty require any additional information or requirements at the time of the one-on-one meeting, such as a teaching demo, they must communicate that directly with the applicant(s) prior to the scheduled meeting.

- Must sign an Instructional Service Agreement.
- Must attend 1-2 annual trainings or professional development opportunities.
- Must assist students with CCCApply Application to Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and assist with registration into the Dual Enrolled course (we have someone to assist with this process if you’d like – email ecep@shastacollege.edu and request a time for a staff member to come to your class!).
- Must complete end-of-term reporting (grades within 3 days after the course ends) and report Student Learning Outcomes.
- Must complete Positive Attendance Rosters through MyShasta, if required.
- Must agree to participate in the dual enrollment retention process which includes annual collaborative meetings.
- Upon completion of these requirements, Dual Enrolled instructors will be paid a base of $200 with the opportunity for additional funding based on course units and enrollment.
- In this Dual Enrollment model, a high school who does not have a teacher that meets minimum qualifications for a subject can request an online college course be created specifically for their students. Students who enroll in the class receive their course instruction online during a set, high school class period. The college course is taught by a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Faculty member who collaborates with a high school teacher to ensure students meet the rigorous expectations of the class.
- The high school teacher is generally a subject matter instructor at the high school and can offer supplemental instruction and added accountability to the students. They also facilitate the enrollment process and help students with any issues they may have with Canvas.
